Opened in 1935 and famed for its authentic chicken rice and herbal mutton soup, the oldest Hainanese restaurant in Singapore has kept its old-school atmosphere and nostalgic ambiance although it is now located in the Landmark Village Hotel.
They served many of other authentic dishes like Hainanese pork chop, Sambal slice fish, fried beef slices etc.

The restaurant was filled with tourist when we reached at 6pm. They cater meals for large groups of tourists. Probably because of their old history background.
We ordered 3 main dish and 1 dessert. Hainanese pork chop, fried sambal with fish slices, Hainanese chap chye and yam paste with coconut. The Hainanese pork chop tasted strange to us. There was a very strong cinnamon taste.
The pork was tender but could taste the oil. We didn't really like this dish. The Hainanese chap chye was good. So old school and homely. Tasted so much like my mum's cooking. The chap chye has lots of seafood and meat in it as well.
We love the fried sambal fish slices the best. So fragrantly fried with the right spiciness. Awesome!

The dessert tasted good too. Think gooey yam paste with coconut milk. Just lacking the gingko nuts. Now with Groupon offer, its worth to give this old restaurant a try!
