In continuation of our JEM foodcourt exploration, we returned to Cookhouse to try out the western food stall as promised in our foodcourt exploration review 2 weeks ago. Hungry Jack is the only western food stall located beside the yong tau foo stall.
The posters attracted many people to their stall. We ordered their 2 most popular dishes: Fish aglio oglio set and chicken carbonara.
The fish set comes with one soup, side salad and nacho cheese fries. The fish cutlet was fried to the right crispiness outside. Every cut and bite into it so tender as well. It comes with either chilli crab sauce or salted egg sauce.
We opted for the salted egg version and what a great combination it was! The soup and salad was so so but the nacho cheese fries tasted good and would be better if the fries are crispy.
The chicken carbonara was not too bad either. Tenderly grilled chicken topped with black pepper sauce and accompanied with spaghetti carbonara. Both pastas are cooked just right. We love the Aglio oglio spaghetti better.
For an affordable western meal, Hungry Jack can be seriously considered. Value for money!
