We are back at Toa Payoh Central for lunch this time. Last week, we reviewed on the yummy Thai food at the food alley. This week, we are back to review on the popular polo buns where we always see queue and so attracted to the polo fragrance.
For a start, we decided to try their red bean polo bun. We were wondering why we must eat in within 30 mins. We expected them to take one polo bun off the shelf but we were wrong. The staff went into the baker's corner.
We waited for abt 3 mins before she handed back to us a brown bag. Wow! The polo bun was cut into 1/2 and filled with generous red bean filling. The bun was hot and crispy. Every bite into the bun was simply awesome. One of the best polo buns that we have eaten so far in SG.
For a drink, we went for Teapresso which is a few stalls down from the polo stall. The stall has a impressive looking tea/coffee barista machine. We ordered one of their recommended butter walnut tea smoothie. The drink wasn't from any instant tea mix but made freshly from the tea barista machine using fresh tea leaves.
The process took about 5 mins before we were served with the drink. This drink is definitely for tea lover. The drink is not sweet with strong fresh tea taste. Mixed with the butter walnut flavor, it's simply awesome! Besides tea drinks, they sell coffee beverages as well and taiwan grilled mochi.
We will definitely be back to try these 2 stalls again so do stay tune!
