Our advance birthday celebration for mum was at Hotel Miramar this year. Peach Garden, a Chinese restaurant located on the 3rd floor of the hotel is having 30% off dim sum menu. We were quite excited over it as we heard of many good reviews on their dim sum.

The restaurant staff were definitely very very friendly and the service provided was excellent. The tea was topped up frequently whenever our cups were half empty. There were only 17 choices to choose from the dim sum menu on offer.

We ordered in total 15 types of dim sum. The siew mai and har kao were succulent and crunchy. Prawn was very fresh. The char siew,  salted egg custard buns and pineapple polo buns also very well done. Soft fluffy skin with generous ingredients.

Other dim sum like xiao long bao, beancurd skin roll, chicken feet and steam pork ribs were delicious as well. For staples, we ordered porridge, xo fried carrot cake and crab meat egg white fried rice. The porridge was a little watery but tasty.

The fried rice was excellent! It was so good that my 5yr niece and 3yr nephew ate 2 bowls each. Xo fried carrot cake very fragrantly fried as well. We simply love the dishes.

All of us enjoyed ourselves and we had a great time catching up for 2 whole hrs without being disturb. Excellent place for family gathering, especially with kids. However price is steep without discount, so visit it while promo is on.

It has been 2 months since we ate Sushi Tei. Previously we were there to try their Autumn fiesta. Today we are back here to try one of the dishes from their Winter Fiesta.

We ordered the salmon chan yaki. It's simply pan-fried salmon filled with stir fried vegetables in sauce. The gravy was very tasty and goes real well with plain rice. This dish could serve as a side with rice to make up a meal.

As usual, we ordered some sushi. We had crabstick inari, spicy floss soft shell crab maki and kani mentai roll

All their sushi standard remains, with 2 thumbs up given to their spicy floss soft shell crab.  The soft shell crab isn't fishy and the special combination with the spicy floss enhanced the taste of the roll.

We also ordered our favourite Hotate mentai and chicken karaage as sides. The hotate standard seems to have dropped a little. Not as tender and fragrant as last time. However the karaage was good.

Paulin's Muchies - Sushi Tei at JEM - Chicken karaage

Crispy and tender chicken pcs fried to the right taste and tenderness. The skin may not be as fragrantly marinated as others,  but the tenderness of the chicken was there.

We love our food. Though a little on the pricy side, but the quality and portion is still worthwhile.

Two Blur Guys, as per what their menu states, may be blur with other things but definitely not with their burgers. This is a small cafe selling only burgers with some sides.

There are in all about 10 choices of burger, with the portebello mushroom steak burger and pulled pork burger being their recommended dishes.

We three gals decided to go for the different meat burgers. We ordered the portebello mushroom burger, pulled pork burger and grilled chicken burger.

Each burger comes with potato wedges and salad as sides. As additional side dish, we ordered their truffle fries.

First came the truffle fries. We could smell the fries coming to us as the truffle smell was strong. The shoestring fries are crispily fried on the outside and indeed very fragrant with the truffle. A very good side dish accompanied with beer.

The mains came 10 mins later. We simply love the portebello mushroom burger! The mushroom was so sweet and succulent.

The steak patty was pan fried to the right texture and taste. Topped with grilled cheese, mayo and buttered buns, simply 6 thumbs up. Next was the pulled pork.

Tender BBQ pulled pork with mayo and cheese as well. Not too sweet and with the right amount of filling and taste. The grilled chicken burger was also a special one.

Chicken tenderly grilled with curry mayo and cheese. All these with buttered buns were excellent combination. Even their sides like the potato wedges so well done as well.

Simply love the Xmas festive season! It's all about eating and frenz gathering. Our lunchies decided go for a post Xmas lunch and gathering today at Chapter 55 at Tiong Bahru. They are having a one for one promo for some dishes on the ala carte menu.

We met up at the restaurant around 12pm and there were still vacant tables. Chapter 55 is a cosy cafe with wooden furniture and decorations.

We ordered 6 mushroom soups, 2 caesar salads, 2 pastas and 2 pizzas.

The mushroom soup was little watery but could taste the mushroom bits every mouthful. Not fantastic but still acceptable.
Paulin's Muchies - Chapter 55 at Tiong Bahru - Mushroom soup

The caesar salad was ok. Portion was ok but not too fantastic either. Here comes the main dishes: seafood spaghetti (seafood fried in aglio oglio style. Not spicy but a little plain in taste. Ingedients was quite stingy as mostly was noodles), spaghetti carbonara (simple carbonara with bacon. Not fantastic as well. Too milky in taste), bonito pizza (ham pizza with Japanese sauce and bonito flakes. Delicious pizza but a tad salty), Hawaiian pizza (simple ham, chicken with cheese pizza. Delicious as well but nothing too special)

Overall, this place is nice to catch up with frenz but food is only worth it with the one for one promo during lunch. Else it would be considered as quite expensive.

After lunch, we went to The Orange Thimble for a drink. We ordered Picollo latte, a double shot latte, matcha latte and mocha. The coffee was good with the right roast.

The matcha latte was a little sweet but still acceptable. The latte art on the other hand was not well done. Looks like some amateur latte art.

This is our first time here. We were at Farrer Park vicinity to visit our frenz during lunch time and decided to go for lunch there. We queued for a popular roast meat stall called Xin Heng Kee.

The stall is located in the middle row of the market and food centre. The queue was long during lunch and we had to wait for 10mins.

We ordered a 3 roast mixed platter set. It consisted of roast chicken, duck and meat with tau kua and egg.  All these with rice for only 13 bucks. The portion was very generous.

We only had the tummy to try one stall today but we promise to be back again to try the others.

West Co'z is a halal family restaurant located in Yew Tee Point. They have another branch at West Coast Plaza. This family restaurant is popular for their curry fish head and other seafood dishes. It is crowded during lunch and dinner times.

We are here for dinner today and we opted for their staple dishes. As mains, we had Thai style fried rice and mee goreng.
Paulin's Muchies - West Co'z at Yew Tee Point - Thai style fried rice

The fried rice is accompanied with 3 pcs of fried chicken and a portion of fried ikan billies. The rice looks plain but surprisingly very tasty and fragrant especially with the fried ikan billies. The chicken is also very good. Crispy and tender.

The mee goreng was excellent. Fried with chilli padi as well, it's definitely not for those who cannot take spicy. The taste was awesome with the right noodle texture. A dish highly recommended.

For sides, we ordered hotplate tofu. This dish was a tad salty and we had to eat lots of rice with it.

The service was still acceptable and overall ambience comfortable to come with family or frenz. We will be back another day to try their other recommended dishes like curry fish head.

Today is our last night in Bangkok. We have yet to try any authentic Thai food, this we decided to go to Baan Khanitha at Sukhumvit.

This restaurant is located at Sukhumvit23 and can be accessed from our hotel Westin by taxi. It takes only about 10mins to reach.

We are welcomed by very friendly staff who showed us to our seats. The service was excellent with every detailed observe.

I was commenting that I couldn't get any Wi-Fi signal and they passed me a note straight on the access code. The waiters are very observant and could do with all the customer's needs.

We ordered quite a spread. They are as follow:

1. Mixed appetizers - a mixture of fish cake, prawn cakes, spring rolls and pandan chicken. Every dish was excellent.

2. Fried omelette - it's isn't the fluffy kind that we have in SG but it was still very fragrant.

3. Fried vegetables - baby pak choy with mushroom and mixed vegetables with bacon. Simple yet well done.

5. Sirloin steak Jim Jaew - medium grilled sirloin stick with special sauce. The beef so tenderly grilled with the right texture.

6. Fried garupa with sweet and sour sauce - the fish was generally deboned and deep fried. The fish was then drizzled with fragrant sweet and sour sauce.

7. Tom yum khung Lai sua - spicy tom yum soup with seafood. Tasted so good that you can just drink it on its own without rice.

8. Coconut dessert - Thailand is so popular with their coconut dessert like water chestnuts with coconut strips etc. The dessert was a little disappointing as it was watery with very little ingredients.

Overall, I would say that this restaurant is very good in their service and food is all good as well. So well done and it deserves a good praise.

Day 2 dinner was at Siam Paragon. As it was a Friday, the place was packed with so many people. We found managed to find a place for 6 pple at Kloset Cafe in Siam paragon basement. This cafe serves a mixture of Thai and western food. A fusion cafe.

We ordered the following for dinner:

1. Crispy duck with green curry - the duck was crispily fried and accompanied by green curry. The green curry is unlike those in SG whereby it's very coconuty. You can really taste the green curry flavour every mouthful. A wonderful dish to order.

2. Pork and salted fish patty with onsen egg on rice - a fusion Thai and Japanese rice dish. A dish that deserves the thumbs up icon. The patty so fragrantly fried and goes very well with rice.

3. Caramel crispy pork with egg fried rice - the pork pcs are fried and drizzled with caramel sauce. Tasted like honey BBQ ribs. The egg fried rice also fragrantly fried. Lovely!

4. Stir fried shabu pork with rice - a simple rice dish very good for children.

5. Thai northern style dish chilli paste fried rice - one of their recommended dish. Thai style dish not recommended for those who cannot take spicy. The ingredients include thai otah, pork slices and fried taupok. Another dish recommended.

6. Chicken and bacon fried noodles - a simple yet very tasty dish to eat. Tasted like HK fried noodles but with much more ingredients.

We love all the dishes from this cafe. Not authentic Thai but with mixture of western and Asian flavour. Do give this cafe a try at Siam paragon.
