Bebek Goreng Pak Ndut serves authentic Indonesian food with the freshest ingredients directly imported from Indonesia. Bebek Goreng is so popular for their crispy fried duck, which has been marinated for 24hrs and the taste is awesomely delicious.

Their very first outlet was at Lucky Plaza and drawing huge crowds. They recently opened their 2nd outlet at Westgate B1, taking over the previous Hot Tomato. All orders are self service with payment to be made upfront before food is served. We ordered 3 of their recommended dishes.

1. Original crispy fried duck with rice ($9.90) - flavourful marinated duck leg fried crispily to the right texture, topped with crumbs accompanied with rice and some sides like cabbage and tempeh. The crispy duck deserves the 2 thumbs up as it was indeed flavourful, especially with their homemade spicy chilli. Rating: 4.2/5

2. Grilled chicken with rice ($7.90) - the chicken was slightly drier but nevertheless still tender. I love the tempeh with dark sauce and goes so well with their special black chilli. Sedap! Rating: 4/5

3. Gado gado ($6.90) - Indonesian mixed vegetables with satay sauce. The keropok wasn't as flavourful but the satay sauce was just right with the generous portion. We love it and it's a must try side dish to go with the rice. Rating: 4.2/5

Food was served very promptly and overall tasted great! We would be back the next time to try their oxtail soup and many other sides, so do stay tuned!

Located at level one of JCube, Ayam Penyet President took over the previous Sakae in April 2017. As the restaurant is named, it is popular for its ayam penyet and other Indonesian dishes.

The restaurant isn't very big and could seat up to 30 people. Ordering of food is self service and has to be paid first at the cashier upon ordering. We ordered 4 dishes in total and 1 rice. Here's the list:

1. Tahu Telor ($6.50) - deep fried egg beancurd with thick peanut sauce. Though the tofu was fluffy, it was cold. The peanut gravy was flat and was rather disappointing. Usually the egg beancurd would have been hot but this was like a cold dish. Rating: 2.5/5

2. Grilled chicken ($6.90) - well marinated tender chicken thigh in dark gravy sauce. The fried bean (tempe) was burnt. Given the chicken alone, it still tasted good. Rating: 3/5

3. Beef Rendang ($7.90) - small beef cubes in deep rendang sauce. This was the best dish of all and gravy goes well with rice despite the beef was a little tough. Rating: 3.2/5

4. Sambal kangkong ($5.50) - another disappointing dish. The sambal wasn't fragrant and vegetables tasted plain. Rating: 2.5/5

5. Yellow fragrant rice ($2.20) - we didn't taste its fragrance. There was no tumeric taste and rice was overwhelmed with gravy taste. Rating: 2.5/5

Customers are entitled free soup and chilli near the kitchen counter.

Food was served slowly and we had to wait for 20mins before it was served. Hopefully food service could be improved in near future to attract more customers going back to the restaurant.

IndoChili is the leading family friendly Indonesian restaurant in SG that has won itself several food awards, including being the top Halal restaurant in SG.

The restaurant menu offers a complete selection of entrees from around the archipelago, from Bandung to Bali, and Sumatra to Surabaya.

The first shop is at Zion Road and they have recently open another branch at the newly opened Tanjong Pagar Centre. The restaurant is located at B1 of the shopping complex.

We were welcomed by friendly staff showing us to our seats. The restaurant isn't very big, thus it is better to make reservations in advance especially for big crowd. We made our reservation via Eatigo which entitled us to 30% discount on all food.

Here's our dinner menu:

1. Nasi goreng combo - a generous portion of fried nasi goreng with certain customization. You can choose the spiciness level and more sides to be added. It comes default with the chicken skewers and chicken rendang. It was an awesome dish! The nasi goreng very fragrantly fried, accompanied by thick chicken rendang and tender BBQ chicken skewers. The skewer is marinated with the Indo BBQ sauce. A must order dish.

2. Kangkung balado - this is like sambal kangkung. Very well done with the right spiciness and taste.

3. Tahu telor - this is another of their must order dish. Crispy fried eggs with tofu drizzled with their special telor sauce. There are delicious prawn crackers accompanying the dish as well.

4. Kentang kacang - this is a very interesting side dish. It is honeyed potato chips with chilli and nuts. It serves as a very good snack with rice.

This is our first blog on Indonesian food. IndoBox is situated at level 3 of JEM just beside Bangkok Jam. We were welcomed by their friendly staff manager.

There was quite a bit of crowd at 7pm but fortunately we don't have to wait for our seats. IndoBox serves2 wide variety of Indonesian ayam set and noodles. We decided to try their ayam penyat rice set and nasi ayam pangang. The ayam penyat rice set comes with soup and a small tahu telor.

Chicken was crispy yet tender and goes extremely well with the chilli. Tahu telor was excellent as well. The nasi ayam pengang consists of grilled chicken thigh, archar, pc of tahu and crackers.
