This tze char stall name definitely sounds lucky but it may not be that lucky after all if they do not do enough promotion to attract more crowd. On a weekday evening, there are more people queuing up for other stalls like western food, Chinese dumplings in the coffee shop.
Since this stall was newly opened in September this yr, we decided to give it a try. We ordered 2 staples and 1 vegetable dish to accompany them. I had kung pao chicken rice while Kevin had their recommended JB san lou beehoon.
The beehoon is actually chao da beehoon but it fails so much in comparison to the other tze char Yong Kee Seafood stall at Jln Besar. The beehoon looks really burnt but fortunately it still tasted ok. Not much ingredients to go with.
My kung pao chicken rice wasn't any much better. There was only a few pcs of chicken with lots of rice. Fortunately we had the fried garlic baby kailan as side dish to accompany the staples.
Lucky kitchen would definitely need to work harder on their food taste and promo to attract more crowd, else it will really not be that "lucky" in the long run.
