Previously I have blogged on Ming Kitchen outlets at Clementi and Holland V. Today we are here to try another of their outlet at Yew Tee Square. Ming Kitchen is one of the stalls in Kopitiam situated on the 2nd level of Yew Tee Square. The menu items are very similar to the ones offered at Clementi.
To do some comparison, we ordered 3 of our all time favorite dishes from Ming Kitchen:
1. Yangzhou fried rice ($4) - very fragrantly fried. The rice tasted so good and goes excellently well with the cut green chilli or belacan chilli. Rating: 3.9/5
2. Stir fried sweet potato leaves with fermented beancurd ($7) - the leaves were a little clumpy and dry. Some of which were bitter. Rating: 3/5
3. Thai style chicken ($12) - the chicken cutlet was flat and full of batter and skin. Thai sauce was good but was too little. The sauce were at the bottom instead of drizzled over the chicken. Rating: 3/5
Among the 3 outlets, the one at Holland Drive remains the best. Guess it would be great for such branches to standardize the cooking throughout all outlets, but maybe only if we can start having robot cooks!
A summary of items ordered:
Yangzhou fried rice
Stir fried sweet potato leaves with fermented beancurd
Thai style chicken
My Overall Ratings:
Food: 3/5
Price: 3.5/5
Service: 3.2/5
Ambience: 3/5
