Craving for Korean food once again, we were at Far East Square (Telok Ayer Street) to try the authentic Big Bros Korean Restaurant. The restaurant is conveniently located opposite Telok Ayer MRT. The chefs of this restaurant are pure Koreans and mainly 3 chefs in working.
We were welcomed by friendly Korean staff who showed us to our seats in a private room. The restaurant was blasted with the latest KPop and TV playing the latest MTVs.
There wasn't a wide range of items to choose from the menu and could easily view all items on 2 pages. We ordered the following items:
1. Beef kimbap ($10.90) - deliciously rolled rice roll with generous filling like beef bulgogi, sausages, eggs, cucumber and carrot. Sprinkled with sesame seeds, the authenticity of the roll could be tasted in every mouthful. Rating: 4/5
2. Cheese donkkas ($24.90) - this was our first time seeing and trying this dish. We were shocked by its portion! It was made up of 2 huge pork fillet and loin slices, topped with grilled cheese, onions and special sauce. The sides were shredded cabbage with thousand island sauce. Every mouthful felt very sinful and we were rather full by the time we had half of it. Rating: 3.8/5
3. Seafood pancake ($14.90) - regular size seafood pancake fried crispily on its side and served on hotplate. For seafood lovers this is the dish to order as each mouthful could taste the seafood goodness. The dipping sauce accompanying it enhances the taste even more. Rating: 4/5
For authenticity, this restaurant deserves a thumbs up. But personally I would prefer Jang Won Korean restaurant at Mosque Street as the food was authentic with a slight local taste. See: http://paulinmunchies.blogspot.sg/2017/02/jang-won-korean-restaurant-mosque-street.html?m=1
