At Lou Yau, their Hor Fun are directly imported from Ipoh. Their hor fun is popular for its smooth and silky texture.
This is because they are produced using the abundance of mineral-rich underground spring water from the mountainous region of Ipoh. The Hor Fun goes complimentary well with their kampong chicken and bean sprouts.

Kevin ordered their signature set which comes with a small serving of chicken and bean sprouts with hor fun. The hor fun is indeed very good, smooth and silky. With the fried pork lard, it was an awesome staple.
The chicken was a little skinny with meat and there are chicken hair on the skin. We didn't really like the chicken. The bean sprouts were crunchy and fresh, boiled to the right texture.
I had their signature hor fun with fried meatballs, sliced meat and fermented minced meat. I love this dish. The sauce with the meat and silky horfun combination was very good! A dish so satisfying... As sides, we ordered their oyster sauce xiao bai cai and thai style fried fish cake beancurd.
The fried fishcake beancurd is another must try dish. Freshly fried crunchy and bouncy beancurd drizzled with thai sauce.
Overall, Lou Yao is an economically friendly restaurant for those who wants to have a satisfying ipoh meal other than in the foodcourt.
