Japanese Curry Express at Fortune Centre

This is definitely a hidden gem in Fortune Centre! Located on the 3rd floor of Fortune Centre, this small shop is hidden away from the rest of the shops. 

We were rather skeptical to try the stall when we arrived at about 6pm. There was no customers except us. Only 2 ladies who are tending the shop sitting there watching drama on their HP and chit chatting away.

They called out to us and made us feel at home. Orders have to be written on the ordering form and passed to them. 

As their shop name is, they are supposedly to be good in their curry but we didn't try it this time round as we were craving more for their makis. 

We ordered as follow: 

1. Smoked duck salad

2. Tori karaage 

3. Salmon mentai don 

4. Mango ebi maki 

Most of the dishes are less than $10. The smoked duck salad was served less than 2 mins upon ordering. The dressing was Japanese sesame sauce. 

The smoked duck was tender and succulent and goes very well with the generous portion of lettuce and seaweed. Awesome salad as a starter. The salmon mentai don came next. Portion is a little small but look very appetizing. 

We mixed the don and were very pleased with the freshness of the salmon slices and overall taste. Very very good! Tori karaage came next. 5 pcs of juicy fresh and tastily marinated chicken deep fried and served with lemon slices and mayo. 

This dish is so good that I had 3pcs. Finger licking good! Lastly came out long awaiting mango ebi maki. 6pcs of thick mango slices topping rice wrapped ebi. 

The maki was good to eat it on its own without dipping into wasabi. Very much comparible to other renowned jap restaurant. We really enjoyed it.

We will definitely be back to try their curry dishes, udon and other makis. Their ingredients are from Japan. For the price we pay, it's definitely a well worth it meal.
