Lor Duck originated from the famous Uncle Tan Lor Duck Rice and Noodles stall in Redhill and whom has won 2017 Michelin 1 star award. The 1st shop was at Simei in the East and they have finally set up another branch in the West at the basement of Clementi Mall.
The restaurant wasn't too crowded during dinner time and we didn't had to wait very long for the food upon ordering. Ordering is self served on the paper. We had the following:
1. Dry duck horfun ($8.80) - thinly sliced duck meat with egg and tau kwa on silky smooth horfun tossed in their homemade duck sauce. Its so yummy with its sour and spicy chilli sauce. Rating: 4/5
2. One portion duck ($8) - we ordered an extra portion of braised duck to go with the horfun. The meat is much more tender as compared to the breast meat on the horfun and very nicely braised. Rating: 4.2/5
3. Silky egg seafood horfun ($8.80) - huge portion of cantonese style horfun cooked in lots of egg gravy with fresh seafood. Goes really well with the green chilli and can be shared between 2 persons. Rating: 4/5
4. Luo han vegetables ($8) - lightly stir fried lotus, snow peas, black fungus, carrots and gingko nuts. Very refreshing in taste amidst the rest of the food. Rating: 3.9/5
For a good and delicious portion of braised duck, Lor Duck is indeed the place to come. We would definitely be back if we suddenly crave for braised duck rice.
