Om Nom is the gem taste of Thai Street food and with its years of culinary experience, it aims to give its customer the best taste of Thailand at an affordable price. Situated on level 2 of The Central Clarke Quay, one could enjoy the delicious food while enjoying the night scenary of Singapore River.
The restaurant is furnished with woody furniture, giving it a modern look yet traditional feel. We ordered 4 dishes in all and a dessert. Water is chargeable at 50cents per cup. Below is what we have:
1. Omelette vegetable ($7.80) - fluffy egg omelette with lots of vegetables in it. Retaining the fried taste, it didn't feel very oily. Rating: 4/5
2. Green mango salad ($6.80) - shredded thai green mangoes tossed in tangy sauce. A very appetizing dish to start with. Rating: 3.8/5
3. Chicken with cashew nuts ($10.80) - slices of fried chicken tossed in sweet spicy sauce with capsicums and cashew nuts. The dish was very tasty but tad oily. Rating: 3.9/5
4. Baby kailan with salted fish ($8.80) - would have expect this dish to be rather salty but surprisingly turned out to be one of the best dishes. Not a bit salty and goes very well with rice. Rating: 4.2/5
5. Red ruby ($5.80) - a very generous portion of crunchy water chestnut in coconut milk. The chestnut was very fresh but had a strong rose syrup taste that overwhelm the actual coconut taste. Rating: 3.5/5
No service charge and GST is chargeable to this restaurant and with its lovely ambience and delicious food, it is worthwhile to pay this restaurant a visit at Central.
