Terminal 21, which is just located a stone's throw away from Asok BTS, is so popular with its range of restaurants on the 4th and 5th floor. Last Xmas, I did a few reviews of some of the restaurants here and today we are back to try Sansab that is located on the 5th floor near the Pier 21 foodcourt.
Sansab is supposedly good for its tom yum ufo and many of their northern thai dishes. Unfortunately we were rather disappointed with some of the dishes.
We ordered the following for lunch:
1. Paad thai - the dish was sweet and salty with not much fragrance. Rating: 2.8/5
2. Beef noodles - the broth was thick and salty and rather beefy in taste. One could not enjoy the soup as the salt level is rather high. Rating: 3/5
3. Seafood vermicelli - this is like a som tum dish but rather disappointing in taste. It tasted so salty and flat. Just full of fish sauce taste. Rating: 2.5/5
4. Pork sausages - northern thai sausages with garlic pcs. The sausages tasted good but salty as well. Fortunately there was the garlic slices to neutrslise the saltiness. Rating: 3/5
5. Fried cabbage - the cabbage tasted rather raw and uncooked. Rating: 2.5/5
6. Red ruby - another disappointing dessert. The ice was roughly blended with very little red ruby. Rating: 2.5/5
Overall, we felt a little disappointed with all the dishes ordered. Food was pure salty and tasted flat. Maybe we are not use to the northern thai taste.
My Overall Ratings:
Food: 2.8/5
Price: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Ambience: 3.2/5
