Jinghua Xiaochi has 27 yrs of history in their dumpling making. They started their first branch at Chinatown. Known for their xiao long bao and steamed dumplings, they opened a few more branches at bugis and palai ressaniance orchard.
We tried out their bugis branch today. The shop's interior design has a nostalgic modern touch. Much modernised as compared to their chinatown branch.
We ordered their popular steamed pork and seafood dumpling, beansprouts with minced meat, hot and sour soup and red bean pancake for dessert.
Steamed dumplings were soft and juicy. Goes especially well with the cut ginger and vinegar.
The hot and sour soup opens one appetite with its sourish taste.
The beansprouts with minced meat was a nice combi. The beansprouts was nicely boiled with no raw taste and yet retained its crunchiness.
Lastly came the red bean pancake. Simply mouthwatering... The skin so nicely fried with oozing red bean paste. Simply awesome!
