Our 2nd thai food experience this week. Since it was a Fri, we decided to go a little further towards town. This time to try a halal thai restaurant at dhoby ghaut xchange. This restaurant is situated beside the student popular restaurant, Just Noodles. The restaurant was packed with customers.
We were served by friendly thai waitresses and did a quick order of some of their recommended dishes. Due to Ramadan period, the place was packed with Malays. Guess it was their break fast time. We ordered 5 dishes in all.
1st to come was fried kailan with salted fish. Very tasty dish but a little small in portion. Next came the chicken with cashew nuts. Way too salty for our liking. The pineapple rice was average.
The mixed platter includes spring roll, thai fish cake, prawn fish cake and tofu. The platter was well done but a little oily. The best dish of all was the sweet and sour fish. Fresh fish fillet in sweet sour sauce.
Price range is affordable. From 6 to 10 dollars respectively based on size. The best thing was no service charge. This is an average family thai restaurant that one could try.
