Aglioolio is an Italian restaurant that serves pasta with a Singapore taste. There are 9 different pasta base to choose from, ranging from their popular aglio olio, tomato base to their unique salted egg base etc.
The pasta are cooked in different spicy level, for one that cannot take spicy, the mild is recommended. Anyone who loves chilli should go for their normal and above. We ordered the aglio oglio and tomato base pastas and were surprised to be told to choose the spicy level for the tomato base as well.
1. Chipolata Aglio Oglio ($13.90) - one can choose aglio oglio with different ingredients like chicken, fish, sausages etc. Kevin opted for chipolata with mild spiciness. The spaghetti is cooked to the right texture and springiness. Fragrantly fried with garlic bits, olive oil and onion slices, this aglio olio deserves a thumbs up. Rating: 4/5
2. Tomato base chicken spaghetti ($14.90) - tender chicken pcs fried with homemade tomato base in chilli padi. Simply awesome with the spicy kick and its so appetizing. Lovely fusion taste. Rating: 4.2/5
3. Fried calamari ($7.90) - ordered this as a side dish. The bread crumbs used to fried the squid is yummy and they are so well done with the crispy texture. Rating: 4/5
Overall, Aglioolio definitely deserves a 2nd visit and this time we will be back to try the other dishes like the salted egg base ones.
The branch at SAVOURWORLD offers quite a bit of night entertainment with free live band during this Oct due to Oct Fest. So its the best time for a visit with frenz to chill out with good food and fun.
