After 1h 15mins train journey from the airport, we have finally reached Kyoto station. Dinner was at this popular okonomiyaki restaurant called Machiya. At just 5:30pm, there was already a queue.
We sat at the counter table and we could see 2 chefs busy frying so many okonomiyaki. They are simply so skillful, and could churn out many of them at one go.

Here is what we ordered:
1. Negi-taman modan - one of their popular modan yaki with Kyoto's traditional green onion. The noodles are fried with sliced pork and topped with egg. You can also choose to add other additional ingredients. The dish will be served on the hot teppanyaki counter so that it will always be hot when eaten. Drizzled with their sauce and mayo, this dish was awesome. Rating: 4/5
2. Kimchi bacon roll - 2 rolls wrapped with bacon and kimchi. They are also rolled and fried on the hot teppanyaki counter. So delicious and is a side dish to be ordered. Rating: 4/5
For drinks, we had red fruit cocktail. The fruits were frozen and was a very thirst quenching drink. Goes well with the rich food above. Machiya could be considered for okonomiyaki at Kyoto station. We will be trying out more in Osaka so do stay tuned.
