We were on our way to the airport to receive my family from their trip. Since Changi City Point is along the way and we hardly visited it, we decided to drop by to explore a little and for dinner before heading to the airport.
Changi City Point is a shopping mall with several outlet stalls especially sports. There are a wide range of restaurant selection as well. Lian Peng Bak Kut Teh caught our eyes and here we are on our way to review the food.
Similar to Old Street and Man Lee, the menu is on electronic devices for you to self order. Here's our dinner list:
1. Loin rib bak kut teh
2. Assam fish
3. Blanched cabbage
4. Braised tau pok and peanuts
5. You tiao
The loin rib was tender and soup tasty. Lian Peng serves the peppery teochew style version.
Assam fish is one dish uncommon in bak kut teh restaurant. The assam sauce is ready made and just poured our the prepared fried fish. The dish tasted very much like sardine.
The blanched cabbage was good with the fried garlic toppings. Braised tau pok was strong in star anise taste. Not recommended if you don't like star anise.
You tiao was ok but those from Old Street is still the best. Nothing too special to comment on the braised peanuts.

Overall, we would think Lian Peng bak kut teh tasted ok and better than Man Lee but other restaurants like Founders and Old Street are definitely better.
