Our intention was to eat Krazy Salad for dinner at Toa Payoh Central but buying Tiong Bahru paus lead us to a Thai stall situated behind. Chao Phraya Thai Kitchen is among the stalls where the popular Tiong Bahru Chee Kueh and roasted meat stalls are.
The stall is rather hot but luckily they have huge fans blowing around to cool the customers. We had to write the dishes we wanted on a pc of blank paper and hand over the list to the staff. Food list for today is:
1. Deep fried tilapia with thai chilli sauce
2. Thai stir fried cabbage
3. Basil leaves minced pork
4. Lemongrass cooler
From where we sat, we could smell all the cooking done. First came the thai stir fried cabbage. Looks plain but surprisngly very tasty. It was cooked just right with the crunchy taste of the cabbage.
The basil leaves minced pork came next. It looks really spicy with the cut chilli in it and we were right! U could feel the spiciness going down your throat every mouthful but it's still tasted very very good with plain rice.

Lastly, the deep fried fish with thai chilli sauce is a must order. The thai chilli sauce is so authentic and delicious that i ended up sucking every bit of fish bone from the dish. Fortunately we ordered the lemongrass cooler which did help to douse the "fire" in our stomach.
All these dishes added to 26 bucks with no gst and service charge. Definitely very worth it and yummy. Chao Phraya Thai Kitchen is a great authentic thai stall to visit.
