Many times we have eaten 老火湯 in food court but this time we have decided to try the shop to see if there is any difference. True enough, having paid $8.80 for a small pot of soup serves you much more ingredients as compared to what you get in food courts.
Not only the soup but you can see chunks of pumpkin in the $2 per bowl pumpkin rice. Besides soup, the shop sells other similar tze char dishes like sweet and sour fish and ngoh hiang. Sweet and sour fish is well done and goes extremely well with plain rice.
The ngoh hiang on the other hand tasted more like minced meat balls. This is a shop to be visited again to try the other popular dishes like stewed pork bee hoon.
