Yum Cha Restaurant first opened its doors in the heart of Chinatown. Yum Cha first started out in 2000 near Temple Street, Chinatown, with the aim of bringing back the dim sum tea house concept in a shophouse setting, with marble tables and wooden chairs for a nostalgic feel. In recent years, Yum Cha has opened its 2nd outlet at Changi Business Park. Besides focusing on dim sum, they are also offering ala carte dishes.
Currently located at Trengganu Street (off Temple Street), the restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the shophouses. With Fave offer, we bought their $50 worth voucher at $32.50. Dim sum was definitely the main reason that attracted us here. We ordered 5 dim sum dishes in all: braised chicken feet ($4.30), fried carrot cake ($3.80), fried springroll ($3.80), steam beancurd roll ($4.50) and crispy banana red bean ($3.80) as desserts. The dim sum dishes are as nice as before, so delicious and we especially recommend the fried carrot cake and crispy banana red bean. Rating: 4/5
Besides dim sum, we added their recommended stew chicken with gluten and mushrooms. This dish is served in the claypot and the sauce is deliciously done. Would do great with a bowl of white rice. Rating: 4/5
We were glad that the dishes standard is still good over the years although service can be better. Keep it up!
