Fish & Chicks is a popular foodcourt western food stall among the young and old. Located at several neighbourhood foodcourts/hawkers, it offers a range of fish and chicken dishes accompanied with either fries, pasta or rice.
We tried its stall at Commonwealth Koufu. Ordering and payment is done at the counter. We had salted egg pasta fried fish ($10.50) and hawaiian chicken with garlic fried rice ($9.50).
Price isn't very cheap by foodcourt standard but quality of food isn't too bad. The dory fish was very crispily fried on the outside and so tender within. Delicious fried fish but the salted egg pasta could do better. The spaghetti was a little hard and cold. Would rate this dish at 3.5/5.
The hawaiian chicken is very much better. Tenderly grilled chicken topped with hawaiian pizza toppings. Yummilicious! The garlic fried rice was very fragrant as well. Rating: 3.9/5
One thing to note is the long waiting time for food. We had to wait for about 20mins before our buzzer rang. Thus, not for really hungry customers who cannot wait. Would be good if they can speed up on their food preparation time.
