Coco Ichibanya at Raffles City Shopping Centre

In January 1978, the first "Curry House CoCo Ichibanya" outlet was opened in Nishi-Biwajima-cho in the outskirts of Nagoya. 

As of current, it has abt 300 stores in Japan. Coco Ichibanya opened its first outlet in Singapore in 2011. As of current, it has already 6 outlets in SG. 

As what the restaurant name implies, it sells the different variations of curry rice. From plain curry rice, to ones with omelette and various sides, one could configure according to their liking. Spicy level can also be chosen. 

From standard to extremen spiciness at level 5. Portions of rice also configurable. We were there today for dinner to enjoy Groupon offer. 2 sets of pork cutlet omelette curry rice with side salad and drink. All these for 29.90. A good buy!

The outlet at Raffles City Shopping Centre was spacious and staff so friendly. There were only 2 drinks to choose from: ice lemon tea and green tea. 

The side salad was standard. Fresh crunchy vegetables with sesame sauce.Yummy! 


And finally, here comes the main. I chose mild spicy while Kevin had standard. I love the mild spicy one as it has a slight spicy kick in it but not too overwhelming. 

Omelette was soft and fluffy. The cutlet was fresh and tender and the curry sauce goes so well with the fragrant short grained rice. Delicious! This is definitely a better option than Curry Monster. 

The free pickles on the table is a must try. It gets rid of the greasiness feel and taste of the rice. 

For curry rice, we would definitely opt for Coco Ichibanya.
