We have eaten Yoogane when we were in Korea last May'16. Finally today, we managed to try Yoogane in SG. It was raining cats and dogs this evening and we were attracted by the army stew poster in front of Yoogane at Somerset 313.
The order had to be taken before we were shown to our seats. There is a free salad bar to take some sides like kimchi, pickled radish and salad with dressing. Its free flow, thus can take as many rounds as you want as long as we don't waste the food.
The stew came 10mins later and it was cooked by the staff. This army stew had something special. It has cheese with eggs around the rim. The stew portion was huge and it could easily feed up to 3 pple.
The stew has baked beans, golden mushrooms, luncheon meat, sausages, glass noodles, tokpokki, maggi noodles, leek, kimchi, fish cakes, beancurd and cabbage. All of these ingredients cooked in their spicy broth.
The cheese with eggs is very good for neutralising the spiciness. We see many tables ordering extra plain rice to go with the stew but we could not finish.
We felt so warm and nice after the meal but could feel our stomach burning. This stew is great for pple who love spicy. Definitely a recommended stew to try.
