Ichikokido Hokkaido Ramen is the 1st Halal certified ramen in Singapore and ramen lovers do not have to fly all the way to Hokkaido to enjoy a bowl of authentic Hokkaido noodles. The 1st branch was at Suntec City and now it has its 3rd branch at Paya Lebar Quarter.
Ichikokido not only serves delicious ramen but other choices like donburi, sides and desserts. The restaurant uses Hokkaido wheat and butter for their ramen, keeping the soup bases rich and noodles very springy as well. Orders are placed via the tablet and dishes are promptly served within 10mins.
1. Ichi-veggies ramen aka hokkai butter ramen ($12.90) - Hokkaido butter, stir fried vegetables with marinated chicken and spring onions. Love the springy thin noodles and it's very generous in terms of ingredients. Rating: 4/5
2. Jigoku ramen ($13.90) - this ramen is served with thick noodles. The spicy miso soup was obviously addictive and delicious. Ingredients include buttered corn, shredded fungus, chicken char siew slices. Rating: 4.2/5
3. Tartar sauce karaage ($6.90) - we love the specially made tartar sauce. The chicken karaage is nothing too special to shout at and it's a little cold. Rating: 3.5/5
Overall for ramen dishes, Ichikokido definitely deserves a thumbs up review. We should be back to try their donburis so do stay tuned.
