As the restaurant name mentions, this Crystal Jade outlet focuses mainly on Chinese la mian and xiao long bao dishes with many items similar to Din Tai Fung and Paradise Dynasty. We were at their Takashimaya branch for New Year Eve dinner. The restaurant isn't big, only housing at most 40 to 50 customers. Ordering is done manually on the order paper.
We ordered 2 appetizers and 4 mains.
1. Jellyfish with vinegar chilli ($9.80) - springy jellyfish so delicious and appetizing. We love the crunchiness of the jellyfish. Rating: 4.2/5
2. Chilli crab xiao long bao ($13.80) - 6pcs of extremely juicy baos very much to our taste. The soup has a chilli crab gravy taste and its indeed one of the best. Rating: 4.2/5
3. Stir fried kailan with mushrooms ($14.80) - nothing too special about this dish. Rating: 3.8/5
4. Eggplant with shredded pork ($14.80) - piping hot claypot with generous portion of braised eggplant and shredded pork. The gravy is just nice in taste and goes awesomely well with a bowl of rice.
5. Gongbao chicken ($13.80) - a dish not for non spicy eaters. Very fragrantly fried but portion is smal. Rating: 4/5
6. Sweet and sour grouper slice ($16.80) - 6pcs of freshly cut grouper slices well tossed in their in-house sauce. Awesome! Rating: 4.2/5
Indeed Crystal Jade dishes has won us over with their dishes. We will definitely be back for more.
