Seiwwa Okonomiyaki & Teppanyaki Restaurant is tucked away along Dunlop Street in Little India. Serving a wide range of Japanese grills whereby you can choose to cook by yourself or by the server, Seiwwa is popular more for their okonomiyaki series.
We were shown to the 2nd floor of the restaurant which only housed 3 tables for larger crowd. There are abt 2 staffs on the 2nd floor serving us. We ordered 3 okonomiyaki (pork, seafood and mixed) of which the seafood tasted the best.
We found the batter rather thick and tasteless. It had to be mixed with lots of mayo and sauce in order to get the taste of it. However we do love the bonito flakes accompanying it. Prices range from $12 to $25 depending on the what flavor were ordered.
Besides the main okonomiyaki, we ordered a few other sides like chicken karaage ($6), gyoza ($6), salad ($12), nagoya chicken ($6), squid leg ($8), yaki soba ($12), curry chicken katsu rice ($12) and seafood makinomoyaki ($16).
Amongst the above sides, we definitely preferred the chicken karaage best. It was tenderly fried and goes real well with the mayo. We actually found the yaki soba tasting nicer than the okonomiyaki.
The food can be oily thus would be good not to order too much. The food can be overly tasty. Thus, would be better to come in larger crowd. Another thing to note is that customers will really smell like okonomiyaki after that, thus do bring along more perfume for both hair and clothes!!
