Aji-Ichi is a Japanese concept restaurant by Astons which offers pocket friendly and delicious Japanese food. Not only is it well received by the teenagers, many working adults and families are also enjoying their dishes at such affordable prices. Dons ranges from $8.90 onwards with sushis starting from $2 onwards.
Thankfully the queue wasn't too long by the time we reached at 6pm. All orders have to be self written on a order sheet and paid upfront before food is served. We were spoilt with choices and all seemed to look good. 3 out of 4 were their highly recommended dishes:
1. Gyu don ($11.90-recommended) - generous portion of thinly sliced beef stir fried with lots of onions and sauce topped on rice. With the onsen egg mixed together, its definitely a fulfilling dish for one. Rating: 3.9/5
2. Aburi salmon mentai roll ($15.90 - recommended) - juicy salmon topped with torched mentai mayo. Deliciously sinful and we simply love it! Rating: 4/5
3. Chicken nanban ($3.90 - recommended) - 3pcs of juicy fried chicken accompanied with their special nanban sauce. The sauce was a little watery. Would have been better if the mayo was thicker. Rating: 3.5/5
4. Tofu salad ($7.90) - a huge bowl of fresh vegetables with tofu topped with japanese sesame sauce. Definitely a value for money salad dish. Rating: 3.8/5
Dishes were served very promptly upon ordering and service was ok. With no gst and service charge, Aji-Ichi definitely worth a 2nd or more visit.
